Darkness Before Dawn

There was nothing that I didn't like about this book. I was pretty sure I was going enjoy another of Sharon M. Draper's book. The previous books have been good but this book was great. It had a lot of suspense and shocking moments. I really enjoyed how the main character Keisha at the end of the story seems to be more stronger than before. Stronger as in emotionally stronger, she had been threw a lot and at the end she sure was someone that you could look up to. One of the things that i really enjoyed is that Jonathon a student teacher was added to make things even better. His character was perfect for the story. He was good looking, smart and knew how to make a girl feel like a women, which is exactly what Keisha thought she was, a women. I didn't like the character himself but I did like the action, and "romance" he brought into the book? I also really liked how one of the conflicts was hidden. I had no clue that Jonathan was going to try to rape Keisha and had previously raped several other girls. One of the clues that was given was when Keisha's friend told her to be careful because someone so perfect like Jonathan would be likely to have a secret. I never really got into that but it was a total shocker what Jonathan's real intentions were.

Darkness Before Dawn significant moment

So far in my book the significant moment has been when Keisha and her friend were at the library. They saw Jonathan Hathaway who was trying to talk to Keisha offering to help her in her SAT preparation and insisted in helping her with anything she needed. Jonathon Hathaway is a junior at the university, majoring in education. He started doing his student observation and had volunteered to help coach some of their basketball and track teams. So all the students called him Mr. Hathaway but he told Keisha to call him Jonathan.I think that that is the significant moment so far because Jonathan is starting to act a certain way that makes Keisha uncomfortable.

Reflection on 2nd book

The main character is this girl named Keisha. She is a senior in high school who has had a roof year. She has passed threw very sad moments in just one year. There has been death, and pain, that have affected her very much. She is starting senior year and her ex-boyfriend has just committed suicide. Keisha felt very guilty about the death of her ex-boyfriend, because they had recently broke up. Whats important to know about the main character is that she is passing threw a lot and how she deals with it will be very important. Also it is important top be aware of what has happened in her life the past year, and what changes had it made in her life. Also the plans she has for the future, knowing that she is a senior she sure has to have some plans like going to college etc.. One of the other things is that there is a volunteer that has offered to help around the school who is a junior in college and who seems to be interested in Keisha and she feels attracted by him also. Well see what happens with them further in the book.

Conclusion to The Jericho Trilogy

I just finished my third reading book "Just Another Hero". I really enjoyed reading this book because it was the conclusion to the books The Batlle of Jericho and November Blues. For being the conclusion I think it was awsome. I noticed the changes in some charachters from thinking everything was just fun and games to it being senior year and dealing with the drastic changes in their lives because of the trageties that went on the previous year and currently. There were also additional charachters that brought confusion and impact to the story, which made it even better. For my next book I would like to read the book Tears of A Tiger. The reason I wanna read it was because I just finished The Jericho Trilogy and now I wanna start with the first book of The Hazelwood Trilogy. This book seems very realistic and some how life realating.

"Are you willing?"

"Are you willing to do anything to be a Warrior of Distinction?" Rick demanded.

I believe this quote to be very significant because its a question that Jericho is being asked. Jericho has dreamed about being a member of The Warriors of Distinction for a very long time so if he says yes it can change his remaining high school years or if answered no it may ruined it instead. I believe this question to be very strong because of the way it is asked, it says are you willing to do anything. And we all know that anything is ANYTHING.

Prediction

For my second reading book I am reading The Battle of Jericho. I am going to reflect what was one of the most significant moments so far. Going back ,Jericho, the main character was at school he was with his cousin Josh and his friend Kofi. They were eating lunch when suddenly they see the Warriors of Distinction which is a club highly respected by the whole community. The club even conducts a toy drive at the holiday season for needy children. But under the surface the club has many undisclosed activities known only to those who go through the secret initiation rituals. They have asked them to meet them at a warehouse for a secret meeting at 12 am. Jericho, Josh and Kofi are very excited but crepped out about the meeting because it seemed very mysteries but they wouldn't miss it for nothing. Basically Jericho and his friends were asked to pledge for the Warriors of Distinction. So they did. The pledge consisted in all the things they agreed to do and be. They pledge that they will be loyal, obedient etc. One day Jericho and Kofi were at the mall shopping for Christmas gifts when they see Rick one of the official members of the club. He tells them that he is in a mission he is buying ornaments for the Christmas tree that they are gonna give to the children in need. He tells them that they will receive a challenge to see if they really want to be considered an official member. He tells them to go to store and grab some ornaments for the tree. I believe this is one of the most significant moments so far because Jericho has to make a decision whether to do something he doesn't agree in, to gain acceptance from the most popular kids in school, or go with his beliefs and loose an opportunity that might change his high school years.

2nd idie reading

      Dear Sharon M. Draper,
Well i have just recently finished November Blues and is starting on The battle of JERICHO.I really enjoyed November blues it was great and very life relating you don't have to go threw the same experience to be able to understand . Now in days you can see more girls get pregnant and never really know what they go threw. It was a good book to see what is behind all off that. I have just finished the first chapter of The battle of JERICHO. It was very interesting from the beginning, I felt like it started off very good.
